WinRAR的優點是壓縮率大，速度快當設置成最快壓縮方式的時候，壓縮包比.ZIP小，而速度卻與PKZIP不相上下.更可支持非RAR壓縮文件。可將 大型文件分割成數塊磁片方便攜帶，且壓縮比比Winzip還強大，可產生自動解壓縮文件，支持鼠標右鍵快選功能、支持Zip文件。
